The Brief

Liverpool One is a regeneration project covering 42 acres in the heart of the Liverpool city centre and was completed in time for Liverpool becoming European capital of culture in 2008.

The project has transformed the city centre and is key to Liverpool’s remarkable renaissance. Intech Solutions were awarded the contract for the design and installation of the centre’s purpose built state of the art control room facility.

How we met the challenge

Intech worked closely with Grosvenor, Crown House Electrical Contractors and Honeywell Building Solutions to create a design that would enable operators to run the centre efficiently from the control room.

The design included a rear projection monitor wall, four individually designed operator consoles and a rear supervisor position; complete with an attached briefing area. Upon completion the control room was one of the largest in the UK, being used for monitoring both the shopping centre and the surrounding area.
