The Brief

Due to the relocation of the community safety department, Wigan council required a new CCTV control room. The upgrade was put out to tender to four console manufacturers

How we met the challenge

The innovative design and competitive pricing submitted by Intech led to, after the review process, the company successfully being awarded the contract. The client took into consideration the durability and aesthetics of the existing control room furniture, which Intech installed some fifteen years earlier.

Intech then worked in conjunction with Terry Bolton and Tony Hollinrake, Principle Officers for Wigan Council, to finalise an up to date design reflecting the advancements in technology. Wigan is currently undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment, of which CCTV and security is one of their main focus points. Using 67” rear projection cubes along with multi-operator consoles, the control room has been designed to last another fifteen years just like the previous control room.
