The Brief

Sandwell Homes provide social housing in the Sandwell borough of the West Midlands. They required a new state of the art centralised security control centre to remotely monitor and provide access services to all the housing. Intech were awarded the contract to design, project manage and construct the control room, kitchen, toilet, meeting room and managers office all to the BS 5979:2007 standard for an Alarm Receiving Centre.

How we met the Challenge

Intech worked closely with SGW Security Consulting on the project and liaised throughout with SSIAB to ensure the project met the BS 5979:2007 standard in every way. Intech provided the complete fit out package including decoration, lighting features, air conditioning, UPS and generator, air lock access and complete raised floor. The result was an innovative control monitoring room with alarm receiving capabilities which is the largest of its type in Europe.
